GameJockeys is dedicated to protecting your child from any type of harm.
Our public events are maintained completely free of drugs, alcohol, and
violence. Participants who fail to follow our rules will be asked to
leave. We believe that the environment at a GameJockeys event encourages
social interaction, friendly competition, and an entertaining
experience. However, some games do depict graphical violence or
suggestive sexual themes.
The Entertainment Software Review Board (ESRB) has established a rating
system, similar to the movie rating system, that groups games by
suggested age group. For more information, please see,
http://www.esrb.com. At our public events GameJockeys enforces these
standards, unless we receive direction otherwise from parents or guardians.
At private events, GameJockeys will follow the direction of the event
organizer. GameJockeys can assist event organizers with detailed
suggestions and options for appropriate games or settings. For example,
a game may be rated "T - Teen" because of strong lyrics in the game's
soundtrack, but is otherwise unobjectionable for all ages. In such
cases, GameJockeys might suggest turning off the music soundtrack for
the game (if possible, and it generally is) or substituting an
inoffensive soundtrack. Other games might be structured to reduce their
violent content, for example.
GameJockeys encourages parents and event organizers to contact us with
any questions they might have. It is important to us that parents and
event organizers understand the various content children may see and
experience at a GameJockeys event.
